Tobago Carnival is back, and 2025 promises to be the most exhilarating celebration yet! Taking place from October 24th–26th, 2025, this unique festival is a bold fusion of vibrant Caribbean culture, pulsating music, and dazzling creativity. Known as the “October Carnival,” Tobago’s version of the season has carved out its own identity, separate from Trinidad’s famous February celebrations, and has quickly become a must-attend event on the global carnival calendar.
What Makes Tobago Carnival Special?
Unlike other carnivals, Tobago’s edition blends traditional mas, soca, calypso, and pan with the island’s naturally laid-back charm. It offers visitors the perfect balance between high-energy street parades and the serene beauty of Tobago’s beaches and landscapes. It’s carnival with a slower, more intimate rhythm—one that allows you to party hard but also soak in the island’s unspoiled paradise.
The Main Events
J’ouvert (October 25th) – The festival kicks off before dawn with paint, powder, mud, and music as masqueraders dance through the streets in a euphoric display of freedom and creativity.
Carnival Thursday & Friday Fetes – Leading up to the road parade, fetes (parties) featuring top soca artists keep the energy alive. Expect live performances, steelpan sessions, and nonstop rhythm under the Tobago moonlight.
Parade of the Bands (October 26th) – The heart of Tobago Carnival. Masqueraders in extravagant costumes glitter through Scarborough’s streets, showcasing themes inspired by Caribbean folklore, history, and fantasy.
